The Rock is a 1996 action film that primarily takes place on Alcatraz Island and in the San Francisco Bay Area. It was directed by Michael Bay, director of Bad Boys and Pearl Harbor, produced by Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer, producers of Top Gun and Crimson Tide, and stars Sean Connery, Nicolas Cage and Ed Harris.
A group of rogue U.S. Force Recon Marines led by disenchanted Brigadier General Frank Hummel (Ed Harris) seize a stockpile of deadly VX gas–armed M55 rockets from a heavily guarded US Navy bunker, reluctantly leaving one of their men to die in the process, when a bead of the gas falls and breaks. The next day, Hummel and his men, along with more renegade Marines led by Captains Frye (Gregory Sporleder) and Darrow (Tony Todd), seize control of Alcatraz during a guided tour and take 81 tourists hostage in the prison cells.
Hummel threatens to launch the stolen rockets against the population of San Francisco unless the government pays them $100 million from a military slush fund containing money from illegal arms sales, which he will distribute to his troops and the families of Recon Marines who died on clandestine missions under his command and whose deaths were not honored.
DID 1/6 scale USMC Force Recon Brigadier General "Frank" 12-inch figure will come with 1/6 scale life-like head sculpt, New all-era 12-inch body, Three pairs of hands, white shirt, black tunic, pair of black trousers, pair of white trousers, US Marine Corps General Hat, pair of white gloves, pair of black socks, black belt, shoulder belt, small American flag, Medal of Honor, Marine Officer sword with carrier, 15 types of medals and insignia, bunch of white roses (paper and plastic), grave stone (resin), One piece of emulated lawn, pair of leather shoes
IMHO this looks to be the BEST 1/6 scale Ed Harris head sculpt so far
The Uniforms of the United States Marine Corps serve to distinguish Marines from members of other services. The Marine Corps dress uniform is an elaborate uniform worn for formal or ceremonial occasions. Its basic form of a blue jacket with red trim dates back to the 19th century. It is the only U.S. military uniform that incorporates all three colors of the U.S. Flag.
The most recognizable uniform of the Marine Corps is the Blue Dress uniform, often seen in recruiting advertisements. It is often called "Dress Blues" or simply "Blues". It is equivalent in composition and use to civilian black tie.
Blue Dress "A" has a long-sleeved midnight blue coat (enlisted members have red trim) with a standing collar and white web belt (with corresponding by rank gold waistplate) for enlisted; midnight blue for officers with a gold M-buckle, white barracks cover (a peaked cap), plain white shirt, sky blue trousers (midnight blue for general officers), white gloves, and black dress shoes and socks. Full-size medals are worn on the left chest, with ribbon-only awards worn on the right.
This is certainly a very elegant looking ceremonial uniform if I ever saw one :)
And DID's quality has always been rather top notch so I think this will be very nicely done indeed
Not sure if the placement of the medals are correct. There has been some rumblings on the forums regarding this.
1/6 scale Marine Officer sword with scabbard
Nicely done display base with artificial turf / grass
and grave stone (so that you can create your own diorama base with cemetery headstone)
plus flowers (white roses) and small United States of America flag
"Once a Marine, Always a Marine"

Sideshow Collectibles J. Scott Campbell Spider-Man Collection Gwen Stacy Polystone Statue
Gwendolyn Maxine "Gwen" Stacy is a fictional comic character who appears in books published by Marvel Comics, usually as a supporting character in those featuring Spider-Man. A college student, Gwen Stacy was originally the first true love of Peter Parker (Spider-Man) before he developed deep feelings for her friend and rival, Mary Jane Watson. (source: wiki)
And from Sideshow Collectibles comes this J. Scott Campbell Spider-Man Collection 18-inch Gwen Stacy Polystone Statue (To Top of Head: 16-inch Height or 406.4mm)
Peter Parker's first true love is the gorgeous and brainy bombshell, Gwen Stacy. Sideshow is proud to share this one-of-a-kind design from renowned artist J. Scott Campbell. Capturing the vibrant heroine on an afternoon stroll through the rain, her knowing smile and carefree stride suggest that a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man is watching over her wherever she goes.
Sideshow Collectibles had earlier previewed their J. Scott Campbell Spider-Man Collection Mary Jane Polystone Statue (pictures HERE) so this makes it their second in the series
Created by writer Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko, Gwen Stacy first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #31 (December 1965).
The Green Goblin (Norman Osborn) caused Spider-Man to apparently accidentally kill Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man#121 (June 1973). Both the decision to kill Gwen and the method in which Marvel implemented it remain controversial among fans, but the death became a pivotal point in both Spider-Man’s history and in American comic books in general. Many point to Gwen's death as the end of the Silver Age of Comics
That doesn't bode well for Emma Stone who plays the role of Peter Parker / Spider-Man's love interest Gwen Stacy in the new Spider-Man films

Incoming: Super Duck C003 1/6 scale Hamburg Uncle Joker clothes set (Ronald McDonald?)
Ronald McDonald is a clown character used as the primary mascot of the McDonald's fast-food restaurant chain. In television commercials, the clown inhabits a fantasy world called McDonaldland, and has adventures with his friends Mayor McCheese, the Hamburglar, Grimace, Birdie the Early Bird, and The Fry Kids. In recent years, McDonaldland has been largely phased out, and Ronald is instead shown interacting with normal kids in their everyday lives.
From a toy company called Super Duck comes this 1/6 scale Hamburg Uncle Joker clothes set (C003) which looks to be based on Ronald McDonald the clown. Touted as a Funny set of outfits for your 1/6 action figure, it comes with the following: Shirt, Tie, Vest, Pants, pair of socks, pair of shoes, pair of gloved hands, Hamburger. The company says that the outfit fits most 12-inch action figure body in the market. What's most interesting is that the company Super Duck decided to put the outfit on a particular clown / joker character which makes it all the more enticing.

Original Effect Army Attractive series 1/6 scale Viola 13.5-inch female action figure Review II
continued from previous post...
This is how Original Effect Army Attractive series Vol. 1 1/6 scale Viola 13.5-inch female action figure looks complete with all her accessories. I had covered the basic female figure out of the box along with the box packaging, included comic in the previous toy blog post HERE. This second-part review of OE Viola covers the 1/6 scale accessories included which are: extra pair of gloved hands, revolver, cap, belt with holster, black overcoat with belt, arm band and cigar
As I mentioned before in my part 1 review, this Original Effect Army Attractive series female figure is not really in 1/6 scale because she is 13.5 inches tall which makes her too tall to be one sixth scale. The leg joints are really really loose (did I emphasize that enough?) and her legs just pop out of her body when you touch it or brush against it :( Her corset top doesn't want to stay up and keeps sliding down while her skirt keeps sliding up and every time her legs pop out, you have to pull up her stockings and adjust everything all over again. Needless to say, this photo shoot wasn't easy at all. Scroll down to see the fully clothed OE Viola female figure
OE Viola 1/6 scale accessories: black overcoat, extra pair of gloved hands, belt with holster, cap, revolver, arm band, cigar, coat belt. The coat has a symbol / badge at the back. It seems to have a face made up of a cross and skull on a shield.
Close-up of the accessories. The revolver is just one piece molded with no moving parts
The belt buckle too has a skull embedded on a cross. Instead of the Nazi swastika symbol, it's an "X"
The revolver is way too big for the hands. So is the cigar. They seem out of place, like they don't belong.
Here's Original Effect (OE) Army Attractive series Vol. 1 1/6 scale Viola 13.5-inch female action figure fully clothed. Viola comes with 1/6 scale Viola head sculpt, 13.5-inch tall female figure body with high-heeled feet, pair of gloved hands, revolver, cap, Bra / corset top, skirt, belt with holster, stockings, black overcoat with belt, arm band, cigar, tie and comic: Army Attractive Vol.1.
I much prefer Viola without the cap
Scroll down to see the turnaround views and pictures of this Original Effect Army Attractive series Vol. 1 1/6 scale Viola 13.5-inch female action figure (NOT a doll haha)
From Ted Menten: "G.I. JOE suffered from the NOT A DOLL problem until they coined the phrase ACTION FIGURE. Even then it was a serious problem since toy stores only had a DOLL section back then. Even Mattel had problems with the first KEN doll who was not listed as a "friend" but as an "accessory" in catalogs." LOL :)
"When Hasbro introduced the first NURSE she was not sold in the G.I. JOE section but in with other dolls. This was NOT a Hasbro decision but a store buyer decision. Years later she became one of the most sought-after figures."
"Female action figures have had a tough time in the market place. Years ago the first 6-inch X-MEN figure of 'Storm' just sat on the shelf."
Check out pictures of the X-Men Storm figure HERE
Now for some close-up views / photos of OE Viola
Because Original Effect Army Attractive series Vol. 1 1/6 scale Viola female action figure is 13.5 inches tall, she towers over all 12-inch figures and here are some comparison pictures of 13.5-inch Viola and Hot Toys 12-inch Silken Floss (Scarlett Johansson) as seen in "The Spirit"
I chose to put them together because they are both Nazi themed figures and go well together
